The San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center
is a department of the City and County of San Francisco. The
War Memorial Board of Trustees, the governing board of the
War Memorial and Performing Arts Center, consists of eleven
trustees appointed by the Mayor for four-year terms (Charter
section 5.106). The Board of Trustees is responsible for the
construction, administration, management, superintendence
and operation of the War Memorial and Performing Arts Center
of the City and County of San Francisco. The War Memorial
Board of Trustees appoints a Managing Director and an Assistant
Managing Director/Executive Secretary.

The War Memorial Board of Trustees meets on the second
Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. From time to time, Committees
of the Board of Trustees or the full Board will hold special
meetings which are announced in accord with prevailing public
meeting notice requirements. All meetings of the War Memorial
Board of Trustees are held in the Trustee Board Room on
the fourth floor of the War Memorial Opera House (entry
at Opera House North "Carriage" Door). All meetings
are open to the public.
